Egyptian startup Wuilt raises $2M to democratize AI-powered website creation across the MENA region. By making its platform free, it empowers thousands of African and Middle Eastern entrepreneurs to go digital.
Egyptian startup Wuilt, founded in 2019 by Ahmed Rostom and Mahmoud Metwaly, has secured $2 million in funding to expand its AI-powered website builder across the MENA region.
In April 2025, Wuilt made a bold move by removing subscription fees in Egypt. The impact was immediate: over 20,000 merchants joined the platform within weeks, reflecting the huge demand for simple, affordable digital tools.
The round, led by Flat6Labs and MTF VC, with the participation of JIMCO, Purity Tech and several business angels, will support the company’s launch in the UAE by the end of 2025, followed by a rollout in the Gulf and Turkey in 2026.
Beyond geographical expansion, Wuilt is enhancing its AI-driven features to help entrepreneurs manage, automate and grow their online businesses, even without technical expertise.
In a region where tech costs remain a significant barrier, Wuilt’s freemium approach does more than capture market share: it reshapes digital access and empowers African and Middle Eastern SMEs, key drivers of economic growth.
